Instead of being hit directly, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) appeared to have been hit by a gunshot that ricocheted. If it wasn’t the case, what then? Is it possible that Curtis was the intended victim all along?

General Hospital Spoilers reveal that even before Curtis was shot, Selina was trying to claim part of the Savoy. Curtis has allowed Selina to have her backroom poker game there for months.
Curtis also gets a cut from the games Selina holds there as well. This could certainly make Curtis a target of another mob organization. However, there could be another option altogether.
Suppose Selina was more upset than Curtis thought when he told her she had no say in what went on at his club.
Selina has offered to do several things for Curtis to make him beholden to her and he continues to turn her down.
Is Selina fed up with her advances being refused? Perhaps Selina is responsible for Curtis’ shooting because she thought he would be more cooperative if he was paralyzed.
Selina Wu Is Nobody’s Friend
Nobody considers Selina to be a friend. Selina is continuously attempting to deceive Sonny because she has a bargain with him as well.
Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett), who refused to sell the club to Selina as well, has even threatened to close the Savoy. Selina was even told by Curtis that they weren’t friends, and she is unable to dispute it.
Even now that Selina is making threats, neither Curtis nor his family had thought about this scenario.
It is much simpler for Curtis to accept that this was an accident than to acknowledge that Selina is beyond his capabilities. Maybe Curtis should apply the detective techniques he picked up years ago while working as a cop.
It Is Much Easier To Blame Someone Else
Anna and Sonny automatically assumed that the shooter was after them. No one even thought of Curtis being a target.
However, by assisting in the capture of Victor Cassaine (Charles Shaughnessy) in Greenland, did Curtis not only contribute to the WSB’s disgrace? When the WSB approached Curtis, he declined their offer to work with them as well.
Along with Anna, Curtis went on that assignment. If Selina isn’t responsible, the WSB might be as Curtis might have had too much access to information while in Greenland.
Maybe Selina is confused with the WSB’s new director. Could that weapon have been deployed to divert attention away from the real shooter? In the end, was Curtis the target?
