Spoilers for General Hospital (GH) suggest that there may be some narrative twists soon. A shooting at the Metro Court pool this past summer left Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) confined to a wheelchair.
Though it appears that everyone thought the gunman was going to target Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) or Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), what if Curtis was the real target all along?
The Selina Wu Factor
GH spoilers hint that with Curtis’s condition, mob queen Selina Wu (Lydia Look) has been focused on purchasing the Savoy. Still, perhaps she doesn’t see Curtis’s condition as a means to an end, rather, perhaps this was her intention all along.
Maybe she hired a hitman to place Curtis in this situation, so she could fully gain access to the Savoy for her gambling games, knowing he would buckle and sell, considering his circumstances.
Selina is certainly one of those characters that teeter on “good” and “evil”. She’s involved in organized crime, so that doesn’t make her the most honest person in Port Charles, but she also does seem to have an honor code.
After all, she did help Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) escape a car explosion on their wedding day, but she’s also hard-nosed when it comes to her gambling games at the Savoy, where she planted Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) to ensure her players didn’t win as much money as they should.
Then again, maybe the shooter is connected to Wu, but connected to the gambling game and wanted Curtis to go down.
Portia Robinson Continues To Lay Blame
Another major facet of this storyline is Curtis’s wife, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). She outright blamed Anna for her hubby’s condition (but did apologize for lashing out at Devane recently) and snubbed Sonny when he attempted to approach her and Curtis at the hospital.
It’s obvious that she doesn’t want her husband to be around the super spy or mob boss given the shooting incident and his current situation.
It’s fascinating that she keeps criticizing Corinthos and Devane. What if Curtis was the intended target of a story twist that turns out to exist?
With everything at stake, Portia would need to consume a lot of humble pie to make up for her treatment of his pals.
How possible is it that Curtis was always the intended target?
