Why America Lopez Was So Emotional Following Her Big Brother 25 Exit

America Lopez’s emotional reaction to being evicted from the Big Brother 25 season was a result of certain things she couldn’t achieve.

America Lopez’s emotional exit was one of the highlights of Big Brother season 25, episode 36. America entered the show as one of the top contestants but started the season relatively slowly. However, her flirtation with Cory Wurtenberger made many fans notice, and the pair’s subsequent showmance made them dominate many discussions about the show.

Sadly, after a relatively smooth couple of weeks for the lovebirds, Cory’s eviction during BB season 25, episode 33, kick-started a hard couple of weeks for America. Despite her getting emotional after Cory’s blindsided eviction, America was able to re-strategize and keep herself on the show. However, that all ended when Bowie Jane won HOH and put her up for eviction, and Matt Klotz, who won the veto competition, did not save her.

America Didn’t Think She’d Make It This Far

America’s eviction from Big Brother season 25 in Thursday’s live double eviction was a heartbreaking moment for her. Being a massive fan of the show, America went for the casting call without much thought and was very excited to make it into the house. However, she had mild expectations coming into the show and just wanted to enjoy her time. Nonetheless, after surviving for 86 days, America found herself facing eviction, which brought out all her bottled-up emotions.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly after her emotional exit, America said, “‘I didn’t think it meant so much to me until that moment when I looked at Jag, and I said, ‘I heard I’m the next one to go like, please tell me that’s not true.'” The moment was too much for America, who broke down in tears. Despite the constant pressure, America wasn’t ready to leave the house. However, her time on the show had to end at some point.

America Was Never Able To Get HOH

One major thing Big Brother season 25 star America wanted to achieve before exiting the show was to become the HOH at least once. Sadly, she couldn’t win any of the competitions. The competitions were more complex and challenging than she anticipated. Despite being a fan of Big Brother and having an inkling of what was required to win games, America couldn’t deal with the pressure or hold her nerves enough to win any. America faced stiff competition from other housemates and, despite her high hopes, finished the season without winning a single competition.

At Least America Left With A Boyfriend

Despite her lackluster performances in the show’s competitions, not being crowned HOH, and eventually getting evicted, America’s romance with Cory was enough to make her one of the most talked-about stars of the season. America went into Big Brother season 25 knowing a showmance was a real possibility for her, and that became a reality when she and Cory started flirting. Despite the age difference and Cory’s bland kissing skills, America fell for him against her previous decision not to entertain anything serious.

Cory and America enjoyed spending time together in the house, which helped the pair keep their minds off the pressure of being in the house. Now that they have both been evicted, America will continue the romance outside the house. In her interview with EW, America explained they would visit each other’s families, and she was excited about the prospect of spending time in the jury house with Cory, which they will treat like a vacation. Despite America’s various expectations going into the season, she is ironically leaving Big Brother season 25 with the only thing she didn’t anticipate having, “a boyfriend.”
