The Vanderpump Rules cast member’s mom shared why “that’s just not the Lala [she] know[s].”

Someone very close to Katie Maloney is weighing in on the Vanderpump Rules cast member’s recent ups and downs with Lala Kent: her mom, Teri Maloney.

In case you missed it, during an Instagram Q&A with her fans in March, Lala shared the real reason why she’s no longer as close with Katie as she once was. “I’m sure if I go back to being miserable we’ll get real thick again,” Lala wrote about Katie. “(Contemplated not posting this because I love her mom. Sorry Ter!)”

After bringing up Katie’s mom’s name, Teri herself reacted to Lala’s post in a podcast episode.

Teri Maloney Reacts to Lala Kent Mentioning Her Name While Insulting Katie Maloney

While appearing on an episode of I Take Bravo Very Seriously, Teri shared why she was “very surprised” to see Lala mention her name in her Instagram Story.

“Well, I was very surprised and shocked to, not really see what she said about Katie, but to see that I was included in that comment,” Teri explained on the podcast. “Because it was like she knew she was going to say something very, very hurtful [and] extremely out of line, in my opinion, to the point where, not only was it going to hurt Katie, but it was going to hurt me as well.”

Teri wished that Lala hadn’t shared the post, saying, “And then she went ahead and posted it anyway. That’s just not the Lala I know to do something like that. I still don’t understand it. It’s unfortunate.”

Where Teri Maloney Stands with Lala Kent Today

As a result of Katie’s fallout with Lala, Teri is not currently in the best place with the expectant mom today.

“Lala is — we’ve always had a very good relationship [and] her and Katie have, too,” Teri continued on the podcast. “I mean, they’ve had a lot of ups and downs from different things that happen on the show and in their lives, but that’s their story. But, I’ve spent a lot of time with Lala and her mom, [Lisa]… It’s just not the Lala I know.”
