Plus, find out why Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent declares Daniel Wai a “normal” guy.

Lala Kent may have initially called Ariana Madix’s boyfriend, Daniel Wai, “a f-cking square” before she interrogated him on the Season 11 finale of Vanderpump Rules (which aired on May 7); however, she is now refuting her snarky comment after admitting that Ariana described him “very different[ly]” ahead of their meetup.

The Give Them Lala author addressed why on the latest episode of the Vanderpump Rules After Show.

How did Ariana Madix detail Daniel to Lala Kent?

“The way Ariana made him sound, it was so wild to me,” Lala began, as she referenced her conversation with Katie Maloney about Daniel not being happy with Tom Sandoval for his past mistakes. “I had never met him, and she was like, ‘You know, he’s a personal trainer, and he does not f-ck around.’”

Lala mentioned that she decided to confront Daniel about Ariana’s remarks, and his response surprised her. “I ask him about it, and he’s like, ‘No [Sandoval] didn’t do anything to me, like I would have no problem saying hey, what’s up, but this is my girlfriend, and it was pretty f-cked up to hurt her, but now I get to be with her,’” she recalled.

As for Lala’s reaction to Daniel’s answer at the time? She shared: “OK, very different than what Ariana said like he’s actually pretty normal.”

The cast of Vanderpump Rules and The Valley reveal what they think about Daniel Wai

On the same episode of the Vanderpump Rules After Show, The Valley’s Brittany Cartwright expressed her first impression of Daniel, saying, “I’ve only met him a couple of times, but he seems very nice.”

Jax Taylor is also fond of Ariana’s boyfriend, noting that he’s a “normal dude.” When it was time for Tom Schwartz to give his honest thoughts on the bartender, he commended Daniel for getting along with everyone.

“I think he handled himself well coming into a f-cking strange situation, he was super chill,” Schwartz said. Sandoval concluded the discussion by calling Daniel a “nice guy.”
