Spoilers for General Hospital indicate Again, Adam Huss’ character Nikolas Cassadine escaped death. Ava Jerome (Maura West) is unaware that her ex-husband is still alive and actively plotting her assassination.
Nothing would make him happier than to go right to the PCPD and report her for allegedly trying to kill him. But since he is still wanted for holding Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), he would also be setting himself up to be arrested.
Blackmail has undoubtedly been his go-to tactic in the past, but he’ll need to be much more cunning about this if he wants to punish Ava without breaking the law. What does he want from her, though, and how will he get it?
Austin Austin Gatlin Holt Will Have Some Explaining to Do
Ava won’t take kindly to Nikolas showing up somewhat dead. Roger Howarth’s Austin Gatlin Holt assured her that he was no longer alive. Who is this doctor if he cannot take his pulse? He assisted her in moving Nikolas’ alleged corpse.
He seems to have been working with Mason Gatlin (Nathaniel Grey) and using Ava for Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) all along. The only losers in a match versus Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) were Ava and Nik.
We can be certain that Ava will demand an explanation from Austin — who was never really in trouble or living with the same pressure she was from having a dead man hanging over her head.
All along, he knew Nik was alive. He knew he was guilty of nothing and wasn’t actually commiserating or conspiring with Ava at all.
Will he try to pretend he didn’t and that Mason kept him in the dark, too? Is Ava really going to buy that?
Hint Nikolas Cassadine Lays A Trap
Ava will be ready to wriggle out of her skin when she learns Nikolas is still alive. She already struggled with the reality that she killed a guy, a man she had once loved dearly, but now she will have to deal with the additional burden of trying to keep her still very much alive ex-husband quiet.
How is she going to stop him from accusing her of attempted murder? It’s a reasonable question, and a lot of viewers are starting to wonder if Nikolas has been utilizing his time away from Port Charles’ sunshine to reconsider his original plan for Ava.
There is a thin line between love and hate, and if Nik’s barometer has bounced back in the other direction, he just may promise to keep his lips sealed for a price — Ava’s hand in marriage, again.
Sonny Corinthos Is Out
Ava was certain that Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini) had obtained the details Mason’s supervisor was looking for before Sonny was detained. She should soon receive Nikolas’ body to dispose of in return.
If that doesn’t work out, she’ll undoubtedly be shaking in her Louboutins by herself. Even though Austin was hardly trustworthy to begin with, they were united by a secret.
Who will Ava turn to when it is destroyed and Sonny is imprisoned in Pentonville for assistance in getting out of this mess?
