Big Brother 25 may be close to ending, but Big Brother 15 winner Andy Herren has been vocal about how one houseguest has broken the show.
Big Brother season 25 is coming to an end, but with the final 3 still in the competition for the endgame title, alums like Big Brother 15’s Andy Herren are speaking out against the season as a whole. The 25th anniversary season of Big Brother has been a battle to the bitter end as the houseguests have all been competing for the $750,000 grand prize, but some have performed better than others in their time on the show. With just a few Big Brother 25 competitors remaining, there’s been a lot of critical comments directed at the longest season ever regarding issues with some of the biggest components of the game.
Big Brother 15 winner Andy has been a polarizing figure ever since winning one of the most controversial seasons ever, but his critiques on the series have been spot-on during Big Brother 25. In a recent tweet, Andy shared that he feels “if the same person wins 10+ competitions in one season, your show is broken. Just saying!!!”

Andy’s criticism comes after Big Brother 25 finalist Jag Bains broke the competition record for most wins, which was previously held by legend Janelle Pierzina and Big Brother 24’s Michael Bruner. The competition inequity of Big Brother 25 has been something that, while discussed prior to the season, has become a huge topic of conversation among long-time viewers of the series.
While long-time Big Brother viewers are aware of the way competitions have always functioned on the series, competitions have meant more than ever in recent years. In early seasons of Big Brother, physical competitions were only one of the many styles played throughout the course of the game. While there are still mental competitions that often appear on Big Brother for Head Of Household or Power Of Veto, the majority of the Big Brother 25 competitions were physical in a way that made it impossible for some houseguests to win anything. Other competitions were clearly designed to give physically skilled players an edge.
Big Brother 25 had a lack of competitions that any houseguest could win, and while it wasn’t as noticeable earlier in the season, it became clear as the number of competitors dwindled down and, still, only a select few were winning competitions. The inequity, which is what Andy is referring to when he mentions that only one person is winning competitions, has been running rampant throughout Big Brother 25. With one of the most diverse casts on reality TV, Big Brother should be looking to overhaul their competitions and make things equitable, as it would lead to more interesting shifts in power dynamics in future seasons.
While seeing epic wins from competition beasts has always been a part of Big Brother, the most recent season has given too much power to those who can compete physically. With houseguests who were in their 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s, Big Brother 25 should have been focused on more luck-of-the-draw style competitions, or a mixed bag that included physical, mental, and luck-based competitions. Unfortunately, the season has rolled towards its end with the physical threats taking the top 3 spots, but there’s always Big Brother 26 to revamp how things may look for the series moving forward.
