Big Brother Reveals Big Eviction Twist For Olivia

Big Brother has revealed a big eviction twist for Olivia Young, with the dancer being granted immunity from the first public vote.

In last night’s launch episode, Olivia was given a secret mission by the titular voice where she was told she must not be voted the Least Entertaining member of the group.

The reckoning came in tonight’s (October 9) episode, with the cast participating in a game where they were ranked in various categories by each other.

After some light fun, Olivia’s moment of truth came at the end, with Henry being the unwitting decider in the matter.

As he organised the group, Olivia was relieved to find herself voted the third most entertaining person, meaning she had succeeded in her task – largely thanks to her input on Salmongate and a story about a budgie.

After the task had been completed, Big Brother revealed to the group the nature of Olivia’s task, with the other housemates congratulating her as she gained immunity for the first eviction.

Elsewhere in the episode, Hallie came out as transgender, telling her housemates that she wanted to be her “authentic self”.

The group subsequently had a respectful conversation where they shared their pronouns with one another and supported Farida for her Halal diet, with the exchanges being warmly welcomed on social media.

With the show now back on the small screen, producer Katy Manley revealed that they wanted the reboot to be true to its roots, saying: “Lots of polished, glossy TV is out there but hopefully we are going back to something raw that has a hands-off producing style.

“The beauty of Big Brother is all you have to be is yourself and be interesting, you don’t have to sing or dance or look a certain way,” she added.

Big Brother airs on Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
