The answer is in. Farmer Brandon Rogers from “Farmers Wants a Wife” chose whether he wanted Emerson Sears, an Iowa native, and Grace Girard to come back to his ranch in Colorado.

Sears joined the show halfway through the season in a surprise twist. Despite that disadvantage, she made it to the final decision alongside Girard, a Wisconsin native. Sears’ journey on the show started with a solo date with Rogers and lasted through a visit to her hometown of Elkhart.

Although the decision has been made, “Farmer Wants a Wife” has one more episode left: a reunion episode. Members of the cast will come back to discuss the season.

Who won ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’?

After a suspenseful commercial break, Rogers told Sears he didn’t have a strong enough connection to continue dating her. He ended the episode picking Girard.

Leading up to the decision, Rogers was crying and spoke to his dad about the tough decision. Rogers told Sears that she is smart, strong-minded and helped him grow as a person. Ultimately the two did not have enough time together on the show to create a lasting bond, he said.

Sears told Rogers she only wanted the best for him.

“I will never know what would have happened with him if we had more time,” Sears said on the show.

‘There is no bad blood,’ Emerson Sears says after final picks on ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’
In an interview after the final selection, Sears said she enjoyed being on the show and would return to reality TV if the opportunity ever presented itself.

“I am so grateful for the experience to have met the ladies on our farm,” Sears said in an interview with the Register. “And Brandon, I have so much love and respect for him. So we’re still friends and there is no bad blood at all.”

The show helped Sears build her confidence, which was something she didn’t expect.

“As silly as this might sound, I deserve somebody who is going to treat me well and love me for me,” Sears said. “That is a huge lesson to learn. I know the right man will come at the right time when I least expect it.”

Will Emerson Sears be at the reunion of ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’?

Sears will not be on the reunion episode of “Farmer Wants a Wife.” The show did not ask Sears to join for the season’s last episode.

“I don’t think me saying, ‘Grace and I are friends, Brandon and I are friends,’ was what they wanted,” Sears said. “Either way if I were to have been invited I would have had to decline.”

Sears’ dad had surgery the day of the reunion filming. After Sears spoke with Rogers, he told her she should be with her dad and she agreed.

“There is no way I would have chosen that over being there for my dad,” Sears said. “Brandon also agreed I should go support my dad and I couldn’t have agreed more.”

At Kippy’s Bar, Elkhart gets a ‘celebrity moment’ during ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’ watch parties

In Elkhart, Iowa, a crowd of locals gathered in Kippy’s Bar to support Sears. When the show turned on, the bar became quiet. Everyone watched intently as soon as Sears appeared on the TV screen.

Each week, the watch parties filled the bar in support of Sears said, Katy Murry, the bar’s assistant general manager.

“It’s been really cool to have her come in and for our own small town to have a celebrity moment,” Murry said.

The whole bar said “aww” simultaneously when Rogers told Sears he wouldn’t pursue their connection.

One man walked in late and asked the entire bar “Did we win?” The crowd responded with a disappointed “No.”

Mom: Emerson and Brandon are ‘still in contact’ after ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’

Charlotte Sears, Emerson’s mom, said her daughter had a great experience on the show regardless of the outcome.

“They are still friends and they are still in contact,” Charlotte Sears said. “You never know what could happen. She did meet really nice friends, male and female, through the whole thing. It was overall a really cool experience.”

When Emerson Sears first found out she would be on “Farmer Wants a Wife” Charlotte Sears said she couldn’t believe it. Emerson Sears had restricted access to her phone and couldn’t be in contact with her family during the filming of the show to ensure no spoilers.

“I thought it was some kind of weird trafficking thing at first,” Charlotte Sears said jokingly. “But after talking with them I knew it was safe and was a one and a lifetime experience.”

Charlotte Sears recalled only having a two-day notice to prepare for Rogers and a camera crew of nine to film the home visit episode. The family went with the flow and had fun. It felt unreal, she said.

“I think she was in it for all the right reasons,” Charlotte Sears said.

Who is the Iowan on ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’?

Emerson Sears is 26 years old and from Elkhart, Iowa. She is a college counselor and went to Iowa State University, according to her LinkedIn profile. In her free she likes to be outdoors. She enjoys fishing, biking, going to the gym and being with family.

She is the first Iowan to appear on the Fox version of “Farmer Wants a Wife.” A previous version of the show aired on The CW in 2008 and included then-23-year-old Krista Krogman from Kelley, Iowa.

How did Emerson Sears join ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’?

Sears never saw herself on a reality TV show and she never guessed she would look for her significant other on one.

Her mom watched the first season of “Farmer Wants a Wife” and suggested she sign up for the show. Sears’ first instinct was no, but after thinking about it she realized she could see herself marrying a farmer. That same night as her mom watched the Season 1 finale of the show, she filled out the application to be on “Farmer Wants a Wife” Season 2.

The show responded to Sears eight hours after she turned it in. Sears didn’t choose which farmer she would be paired with. But both Rogers and Sears were from small towns and had similar goals.

Where can I watch ‘Farmer Wants a Wife’?

You can watch the “Farmer Wants a Wife” reunion on Fox at 8 p.m. central on Thursday, May 16. You can also stream episodes on Hulu the next day.

For those in Iowa watching, Sears hosts a watch party at Kippy’s Bar in Elkhart Iowa starting at 7 p.m. Thursdays.
