One of the most popular contestants on this year’s season of Farmer Wants A Wife has sparked dating rumours after they were spotted looking loved-up with another star of the franchise. Anna Wilson, who was Farmer Dustin Manwaring’s runner-up, reportedly spent time with season 10’s Farmer Alex Taylor in Yeppoon, Queensland over the weekend.
A fan shared a post on Reddit on Thursday morning saying they have it “on very, very good authority” that the pair, who follow each other on Instagram, were “getting very cosy” at an event.
“Alex no longer lives on the family farm, and Anna is working in a town that’s a little under two hours drive from him,” they wrote. “The person who I got this information from said that they were very flirtatious. They also said that Anna is a really nice person and has a good sense of humour.”
The user went on to say that while they’re not sure how the rest of the night went, they have a similar social circle to Alex and know that he “does very well with the ladies”.
“It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they did hook up or get together. I never really got why he went on the show. He’s never been short of prospects,” they added.
Following speculation from fans, Yahoo Lifestyle reached out to Anna who confirmed that she and Alex saw each other over the weekend but asserted that their relationship is purely platonic.
“He is one of my brother’s mates – there is absolutely nothing to report on there!” she said.
Anna’s post-show update
Anna’s romance rumours come shortly after she spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle about her plans following Farmer Wants A Wife. Despite being a fan favourite, Anna said she has no desire to return to reality TV or build a career in the public eye.
“At the end of the day, I am just a midwife living in a small country town who signed up to a show in the hopes of finding a husband and absolutely nothing else,” she shared. “I didn’t get the husband, so I think I’m just going to slip back into my ordinary little life.”
The 28-year-old also responded to the various spin-off ideas fans have pitched on social media, including a series called ‘Country Town Wants a Midwife’.
“It’s too funny! I actually can’t believe the response I have had,” she remarked. “Everyone has sent me thousands of kind and beautiful messages and I’m feeling quite overwhelmed about it all.”
