Gabriela’s unexpected fate in Fire Country season 3 after her supposed wedding in the season 2 finale may have been revealed in a new set video. Despite the criticisms about Fire Country’s accuracy, the show is still one of the most-watched programs in the last cycle — something that is expected to continue, considering the season 2 cliffhanger finale. While it will still be a few weeks before Fire Country season 3 debuts, content from the show’s set is offering fans clues about what’s to come for Bode and the rest of Cal Fire.

On its official Instagram account, Fire Country shared a new video of Stephanie Arcila in her Gabriela costume, but she is noticeably not wearing a wedding ring. Check out the clip below:

In the video, Arcila is poking fun at Fire Country’s (and shows in general) steamy scenes. That said, the actor not sporting her wedding ring or her engagement ring hints that her wedding to Diego in the season 2 finale may not have pushed through.

What Gabriela Not Getting Married Means For Fire Country Season 3
Gabriela’s Sacrifice May Not Be Enough To Be With Bode

For context, Fire Country season 2 ended with Gabriela at the altar about to exchange rings with Diego. She keeps on looking at the crowd to check in with how Bode is taking it all in, silently hoping that he will do something to stop the ceremony. Sadly, he didn’t. Instead, the show’s sophomore year ended with him begging Luke to pull some strings so he could be a full-time firefighter. Not seeing Gabriela actually tying the knot with Diego understandably raises doubts about it happening, especially since this would significantly impact Fire Country season 3.

Moving forward, it could drive them apart, with Gabriela deciding to finally give up on Bode since he doesn’t want to fight for her.

Gabriela not getting married to Diego may sound like good news for her and Bode. That said, it may not be that simple. Fire Country season 3 is introducing Leven Rambin’s Audrey — a potential new love interest for the Leone nugget. Between that and his commitment to becoming a full-time firefighter, Gabriela stopping her wedding may still not be enough for them to be together. If anything, it might just further complicate their already complex situation. Moving forward, it could drive them apart, with Gabriela deciding to finally give up on Bode since he doesn’t want to fight for her.

Max Thieriot’s hit CBS series has recently arrived on Netflix, further expanding its reach ahead of its return on network TV. This sets up Fire Country season 3 to be potentially bigger than its first two years. That’s a good indication, especially since the franchise is expanding with a new spinoff starring Morena Baccarin’s Mickey, Sheriff Country, and another potential offshoot with Jared Padalecki’s new character, Camden.
