Spoilers for General Hospital: Brick (Stephen A. Smith) only has a first name. Since 2007, when he portrayed an anonymous television reporter during the Metro Court Hostage Crisis, Stephen A. Smith has been a regular on the program.
Because of his impact, General Hospital created him his own character, “Brick.” The show first featured Brick in 2016.
Since the days of Tony Geary and Genie Francis as Luke and Laura, Stephen had been a tremendous fan of the program. When Frank Valenti, the executive producer, learned of it, he wanted him to appear on the program.
Maurice Benard and Stephen A. Smith are good friends. Maurice encouraged the popular commentator of ESPN’s First Take to audition, and the role was created for him.
It was decided that Stephen would play an “expert” who worked with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in the mafia. He was asked to wire Paul Hornsby’s (Paul Satterfield) office.
The First Impression of Brick
Brick first struck us as being calm and velvety smooth. Fans wished there had been more Brick. He and Maurice had the most amazing conversation.
In 2019, Brick came back to assist Sonny in locating his son Dante Falconari (Dominic Zamprogna). He showed up on a few notable occasions. The return of Brick to Port Charles was well received by the crowd.
Then, in 2020, Brick returned once more. Throughout that year, he appeared on numerous occasions. He looked into the evil Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier), at the request of Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
He helped Sonny and Jason catch Julian Jerome (William DeVry) after he took part in bombing the Floating Rib, and he was en route to Canada.
Fans, once again, took a liking to him. He returned to the show a couple of times in 2021 and killed one of Cyrus’s men while protecting Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
Cameron Webber (William Lipton) then shot Jason in the back.
Brick took Jason and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) to a safe house. He made a few appearances in 2022.
Brick’s Intuition
The thing about Brick is that he knows when to speak up and when to keep his mouth shut. He is exceptionally loyal to Sonny, and he helps Sonny avoid suspicion when it comes to the Feds.
Longtime fans appreciate Brick for his honor and the fact that he is a straight shooter. Not only is he highly intelligent, but he is also very perceptive.
Brick knew there was something off about Sonny’s new hire, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). He was right. Dex was hired by Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to help him set up his father.
Brick adheres to the tenet that trust must be earned, not bestowed. He is a terrific ally and it is his responsibility to defend Sonny and his soldiers from any dangers. In April, Brick returned to Port Charles.
According to Stephen A. Smith, staying out of trouble is his #1 concern. He contrasts his work on
