Eden McCoy Mourns Mom’s Death
The General Hospital character Eden McCoy, who plays Josslyn Jacks, used social media to share her grief after her mother’s passing.
Natasha, Eden’s mother, fought cancer. Additionally, as TV Insider pointed out, the 20-year-old General Hospital star posted a picture on Instagram that brought back joyful memories of a trip with her daughter.
However, McCoy also made a very unique list of twenty items that demonstrated her love for her mother. The General Hospital actress also admitted that writing such a deeply personal homage on social media did feel unusual.
“It feels bizarre and almost performative to make a post so personal on the most impersonal space,” wrote Eden. “But many people who knew my mother and also knew me didn’t know what was going on,” she explained. “And this is the easiest way to let everyone know. They also deserve to mourn and part with her in whatever way they may choose.”
Eden McCoy Shares Mom’s Battle With Cancer
The General Hospital actress also disclosed that her mother “has now physically left us after an intense battle with cancer for the past two and a half years.” She was, is, and always will be the best thing I have ever known, but I’m not sure what more to say. Eden said, “She took me with her when she went, and she is accountable for every positive aspect of me.
The General Hospital actress did, however, also share some lessons her mother taught her during her cancer battle. McCoy also considered how important it is to live life to the utmost.
“If there is anything I can say to whoever is reading, it would be that absolutely nothing is promised. We really aren’t owed anything. Your life really can change in just a moment, so as my mom would say, do everything as if it’s your last time doing it,” added Eden.
Eden McCoy Honors Late Mother
But McCoy confessed that she always feared the death of her mother. However, the General Hospital star expressed her gratitude for the time that she had.
“Losing my mother has always been my greatest fear, as I’m sure many of you feel the same,” wrote Eden on Instagram. “And we have this habit as people of thinking that it will never happen to us. Unfortunately it can, and sometimes it does. I would do anything and give everything for one more minute with her. But not only was I lucky enough to know my mother, we could not have been closer.”
Finally, the General Hospital actress addressed a unique note to her mother. She said, “Mom, I expected a lot more time with you than was given.” However, that doesn’t mean that the time we had together wasn’t sufficient. Although I am sorry I am unable to accompany you, I have to assume that wherever you are going will be a great experience. All I want is that we cross paths once more. I will carry you forever because you carried me with you for nine months. I notice you all the time.
