Another show has just joined a long list of culprits.
NCIS: Hawai’i’s cancellation news has caused quite a stir in the media that hasn’t subsided ever since the news broke back in April.
Some most devoted fans started their own investigation to find out the exact reasons for CBS’ decision to ditch the high-rated show, others in the meantime were keeping busy creating and spreading a word about a petition that was supposed to unite NCIS: Hawai’i’s lovers in their fight for the series’ future on TV.
As now the show’s comeback after the cancellation seems less and less feasible, CBS’ other successful shows suddenly got all the heat being blamed for stealing NCIS: Hawai’i’s time slots and even ratings. However weird it may sound, the NCIS franchise’s other spinoff is also one of such series.
While fans of the scrapped show keep rioting on social media, the NCIS universe still continues to expand with two new and radically different spinoffs coming to the screens soon. All of the franchise’s hopes are now turned to NCIS: Origins, an upcoming series that now will revolve exclusively around NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and his earlier years in the company back in the 1990s.
Way before its potential release, NCIS: Origins was quick to get backlash from NCIS: Hawai’i’s lovers who blamed the upcoming show for deliberately stealing the canceled spinoff’s time slot and adapting Young Sheldon ’s main idea to guarantee itself a spot on CBS’ tight schedule.
Now things are getting even more serious as the show, which has yet to receive a release date, gets another accusation, this time regarding its budget.
Why Are Fans Boycotting NCIS: Origins Already?
Fans have recently been pretty vocal about yet another reason to boycott NCIS: Origins upon its arrival as, according to them, it required a bigger budget from the franchise thus forcing it to cancel one of the current shows, NCIS: Hawai’i to be precise.
Some suggest that NCIS just couldn’t afford doing both series at the same time and opted for a new installment with seemingly more potential, while others already came up with some theories concerning NCIS: Origins’ possible lack of compelling storyline and even limited diversity which would eventually make the future show pretty much inferior to its canceled peer.
The whole feud between both shows’ defenders has all chances to go even further as NCIS: Origins’ details will be revealed one by one closer to the series’ release date. Still, all the theories going viral are doomed to have absolutely no ground until NCIS: Origins finally hits the screen.
