Blue Bloods saw the devastating death of Linda Reagan six years ago and viewers are keen to know of Amy Carlson’s whereabouts since her exit.
As the wife of Danny Reagan (played by Donnie Wahlberg), she was firstly a recurring cast member in season one, before earning the distinction of “also starring” from series two to four.
It was then in season five that she was considered a main cast member of the CBS police family drama, although it didn’t last long as she was killed off between series seven and eight.
She died in a medivac helicopter crash while tending to a patient, an ending that Carlson was “surprised” by.
In an interview with Deadline, Carlson admitted she “wouldn’t have done that”, instead preferring her death to play out onscreen so fans could have a chance to properly mourn.
Where is Blue Bloods’ Linda Reagan star Amy Carlson now?
After her stint on Blue Bloods, actress Carlson’s career shifted into working on smaller, independent films with her first role away from the CBS series being in A Bread Factory, Part One.
The movie, which was about an art space struggling to stay open after a celebrity couple moved to the area, was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards.
In 2019, she starred in The Incoherents which received various nominations and boasts 80 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, followed by Sunny Daze the following year.
The same year, she starred in The Village on NBC, alongside Law and Order SVU’s Michaela McManus and Law and Order’s Lorraine Toussaint.
She has also worked on Netflix’s The Society, FBI: Most Wanted and won the Hollywood Women’s Film Festival award for Best Actress in a Dramatic Short for her performance in The Letter, a movie she also wrote alongside her husband Syd Butler.
Her most recent onscreen work was two years ago in the supernatural thriller Know Fear.
Carlson may not be working on any new television projects just yet but she has reportedly been active in helping worthy causes.
She has been working alongside the likes of Habitat for Humanity’s Help Women Build project, Hearts of Gold, as well as organisations for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, or ME/CFS, also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (via Knox Alum).
Away from work, Carlson is happily married to bassist and founding member of the indie rock band Les Savy Fav, Syd Butler.
The actress has two children with the musician, daughter Lyla and son Nigel Butler.
In October, she dedicated a tribute to Lyla, describing her as a “remarkable daughter, fiercely loyal friend, best hugger [with the] biggest heart”.
